Hi! I’m Karl Witek, an enthusiastic Software Developer with a solid foundation in full-stack development from Launch School, an online school for Software Engineering. My unique background as a PGA Professional and small business owner has equipped me with exceptional problem-solving abilities, project management skills, and the versatility to thrive both independently and as part of a team.
I am seeking a WordPress Developer position with an innovative company to build upon my technical skills and explore the possibilities of WordPress Theme and Plugin Development. My main skill set includes JavaScript, PHP, CSS, HTML, and jQuery, as well as working with relational databases. I bring a client-focused mindset and proven track record of delivering high-quality results, developed through years of professional service and entrepreneurship. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, exploring new places, and indulging my curiosity in extreme weather events.
This custom WordPress Dynamic Block, named "KW Custom Link," enables administrators to create interactive links in the Gutenberg editor. Each link consists of three components: a title, URL (or page slug), and description. The block becomes available after installing and activating the KW Custom Link plugin, which I developed using PHP, React, CSS, and jQuery.
I designed this Classic Theme for my portfolio website. The theme features animated navigation links in the header and a front page with two distinct containers. The main content area on the left is easily editable through the home page editor. For the right container, administrators can create a new page with the slug 'nav-content'; any content added to this page will display in the right container of the home page. The theme is built with custom CSS and maintains full responsiveness across all devices. Bootstrap was not utilized in this theme.
I developed this custom WordPress Dynamic Block that enables administrators to create an interactive photo gallery using images from their media library. The gallery features a main display image with additional image 'slides' stacked vertically on the right side. When users click any of the stacked slides, the main image smoothly transitions to display the selected image. The block is available through my plugin, KW Simple Gallery, which I developed using PHP, jQuery, CSS, JSX, and React.

I redesigned the original website with the Nimble Page Builder plugin and custom CSS. This position was my introduction to WordPress.
